El personaje Jack Ryan, creado por el recientemente fallecido Tom Clancy, regresará a las pantallas en la película Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. Primero interpretado por Alec Baldwin en The Hunt for Red October, después por Harrison Ford en Patriot Games y Clear and Present Danger, y por último por Ben Affleck en The Sum of All Fears, en esta nueva historia, que no está adaptada de ninguna novela y que en realidad es un reboot, el actor Chris Pine será el que le de vida este personaje. Con las actuaciones también de Kenneth Branagh, Kevin Costner y Keira Knightley, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit se estrenará en Estados Unidos este 25 de diciembre.
